Observations and daily life experiences on a barrier island.  Plum Island, located off the shores of northern Massachusetts, just at the New Hampshire border is a 13-mile long barrier island; 2/3rds belongs to the Parker River Wildlife Refuge, which technically fall within the townships of Ipswich and Rowley. The remainder is residential, part belonging to the city of Newburyport and the other part, Newbury.
